Ingredients
The aerial stems carry ephedrine-type alkaloids (ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, and norephedrine), supported by delicate volatile oils and quinoline notes.
Therapeutic Effects
Releases the exterior with a light sweat, opens the Lung to ease wheeze, and guides fluids to relieve swelling. Traditionally favored for wind-cold patterns, tight cough, and damp accumulation with difficult urination.
Precautions
Use with care in spontaneous sweating or yin deficiency with night sweats. Avoid large doses or prolonged use; not suited to excess heat patterns.
